Today’s educational environment is flooded with online learning apps, extensions, and cloud-based tools for learning. It’s hard to keep one’s head above water when vetting these resources, many of which are free and easy to download. This session will review the reasons, resources, and best practices that will help you navigate these waters while protecting your students’ private information from the data sharks that lurk everywhere. Topics will include FERPA regulations, the Student Data Privacy Consortium, and the Vermont Student Privacy Alliance.
